Our family has gone through many trials and a few triumphs over the past few months…among the many situations, was my husband getting laid off and then starting a new job working nights. What a BIG change this has been for our family!! Its hard to explain to my girls why we can’t see him at dinner/bedtime every night – and why we have to be so very quiet in the morning when they wake up (so he can rest).
I have learned that for the past few weeks, since my better half took this job, I have really had to be very soft with my girls; and strong as a woman. Giving them an extra snuggle, or maybe an extra bedtime story at night. They have always been (and probably always will be) “Daddy’s girls” ~ so I cannot imagine how they must be feeling when he works four nights each week. I know that when all is said and done, the money that my husband makes helps us survive (and maybe someday, it will be thrive).
Every person, whether they are male/female must go through experiences in life where they must decide how they will handle the situation. Will they be strong? Or will they be soft? Will you stand out above the rest? Or make the best with what you have? Either way, you are settings goals for yourself and being the best person you can be.
