This week Target announced that nearly 40 million Target shoppers, from Nov. 27 to Dec. 15, may have had their debit and credit cards compromised through a massive credit card hack launched on the store.
This is what Target’s CEO Gregg Steinhafel said yesterday:
“Yesterday we shared that there was unauthorized access to payment card data at our U.S. stores. The issue has been identified and eliminated. We recognize this has been confusing and disruptive during an already busy holiday season. Our guests’ trust is our top priority at Target and we are committed to making this right.in a statement there was an apparent “unauthorized access to payment card data at our U.S. stores.”
In an act of goodwill, Steinhafel announced that ALL Target customers throughout the country will be offered 10% off their purchase as a way to tell the millions of Target customers that the company is sorry.
Even though their has been some inconvenience for shoppers and Target card holders, Christmas shoppers have the chance on Dec. 21 and 22 to take 10% off their purchases. If you have any last minute Christmas shopping to do this is a perfect incentive for you this weekend!
