As a busy stay at home mommy of two young girls, I have learned that one of the only ways I can work out is with my children. So when I found out that I would be reviewing a yoga DVD for children, I knew that we would both benefit from a little exercise 😀
Storyland Yoga is a fun-filled adventure that infuses children with an eco-conscious message. Two unique stories, “Save the Whale” and “Condor Trek” engage a child’s imagination through storytelling. Kid’s learn yoga postures by becoming part of the story and imitating animals. Yoga is great exercise and helps to calm children giving them greater focus and increased clarity. Storyland Yoga is equally fun for parents and family members who can benefit from yoga, while enjoying ‘organic time’ with their children.

My thoughts
My two year old daughter and I had so much fun watching and interacting with this fun DVD! You can choose from two story lines ~ the Condor or Whale run. We both really enjoyed the Whale run the best ~ where we got to pretend to be dolphins! As you watch and listen to each story, you are able to exercise (through yoga) and learn an interactive way of story telling.
As an early childhood educator, I could definitely see children ages 2 and up, really enjoying this DVD. It encourages all kinds of physical activity, and would be perfect for a rainy day of play. I was very impressed with the recylable packing that the DVD came in, and really loved that the entire film was done outdoors. It really made me feel that we were playing outside, and taking the time to enjoy the great outdoors.
Storyland Yoga truly encourages your children to use their imagination and have fun, while learning how to do yoga (without them really knowing it) and listening skills. I would highly recommend this to anyone with young children! It was so much fun to watch this with my daughter, and I can’t wait to try it out at our next indoor playdate 😀
