The Gaggia for Illy Plus single-serve espresso machine brews authentic Italian espresso using the world-famous iperEspresso capsules. Designed with the home-user in mind, the Gaggia for Illy Plus has a small, space-saving frame and simple-to-use push button controls. Thanks to a Mavea water filtration system, your beverages will always taste fresh. This unit has a Pannarello steam wand for one-stop cappuccino and lattes. How does it work? {brewing}
The Gaggia for Illy Plus has a 15-bar pump and stainless steel boiler for quick operation. To brew, simply insert your choice of iperEspresso capsule and press the brew button, located at the top of the machine. A programmable beverage volume button allows you to customize drink sizes. The Gaggia for Illy Plus automatically prepares and dispenses the beverage right into your cup. Spent capsules are discarded into an iperEspresso container, capable of holding up to 12 capsules.

Illy’s iperEspresso capsules are pre-measured and packaged for convenient brewing. Illy has created these capsules to yield rich, persistent crema that lasts up to three times longer than comparable capsules and pods. The Gaggia for Illy Plus has a no-burn Pannarello steam wand, capable of creating steamed and frothed milk for cappuccinos and lattes as well as dispensing hot water for teas. The steam wand can be swiveled, allowing it to accommodate different cup sizes.
{water management}
The one-liter water reservoir utilizes a Mavea Water Filter, a four-stage system that purifies and removes tap water impurities for great tasting beverages. The water filtration system also helps to reduce mineral and scale buildup. {housing and construction}
The Gaggia for Illy Plus has a shiny black body made of ABS plastic. The famous iperEspresso flower is carved into the front panel of the machine. A height adjustable cup holder lets you raise and lower the stand, as needed, to accommodate different cup sizes.
My Thoughts
There is something about the smell of coffee that gives you that warm and tingly feeling inside…just like opening presents on Christmas morning, you are giving a gift to yourself with a warm, delicious cup of coffee each day. I have to say that this incredible espresso machine was very fun and exciting to use. I have never owned one before, and using this one was definitely an adventure I will never forget.
After watching the Youtube video (shown above) several times, and reading through the directions of the book, I gained the courage to try out the machine! My espresso was so incredibly delicious, and looked/tasted just like one from the coffee shop. It was a little intimidating using this machine (that costs almost $300) for the first time, but after I finally made my first cup, I absolutely loved it! Just imagine how much money you could save, if you made your own coffee drinks each day – rather than paying $4+ each day at a coffee shop. That’s a lot of savings!
I am not a coffee expert at all…but if you are, or if you know someone that is (or maybe know someone that wants to learn more)…you should definitely check out Whole Latte Love’s website!
