Deviled eggs, sliced honey ham, sweet potatoes…all favorites at our dinner table for Easter. One product that our family absolutely loves to have is Mrs. Cubbison’s seasoning dressing. Their melba toast is cooked to perfection and after you add all your own seasonings, you have a stuffing that everyone will drool over.
About Mrs. Cubbison
Mrs. Cubbison’s Foods is a company that specializes in stuffing products (also known as dressing). Founded in the U.S. in 1948 by Sophie Cubbison, Mrs. Cubbison’s Foods has grown to include other products, such as croutons and meatloaf mix.
The Products ~ Mrs. Cubbison’s Seasoned Dressing and Seasoned Croutons

For this review, I received two products from Mrs. Cubbison’s including: Seasoned Corn Bread Stuffing (which comes with two packs) and a bag of their Classic Seasoned Croutons.
The Stuffing: Freshly baked cornbread is lightly Melba toasted, and then perfectly seasoned. A hearty, delicious variation on classic holiday treat, this cornbread stuffing also makes a great everyday side dish.
Classic Seasoned Croutons: The croutons start out as freshly-baked bread, which are then cut into large restaurant-style croutons. They’re perfectly toasted, before a sprinkling with Romano and Parmesan cheeses, garlic, and other delicious spices. The result is a classic-tasting crouton that adds a subtle deliciousness to any salad or soup.
Easter Culinary Creations
Along with the products that were sent to me, Mrs. Cubbison’s also provided some savory Easter recipe ideas as well:
EDIBLE EASTER STUFFING CENTERPIECE
Combine 1 box (2 bags) stuffing mix with ¾ cup chopped celery, ¾ cup chopped onion, 1 cup broth, juice or water, ½ cup canola or vegetable oil and 2 large eggs, lightly beaten. Press moistened stuffing firmly into a greased Bundt cake pan and bake in a preheated 375° oven for 30 minutes. Allow pan to cool before turning out onto a serving plate. Fill the center with shredded cabbage and add colored Easter eggs.
STUFFING EASTER EGGS!
Using the same recipe above, shape the moistened stuffing into egg shapes and arrange on a cookie sheet with a light coating of cooking oil spray; bake stuffing “eggs” in a preheated 375° oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve stuffing eggs with shredded cabbage “grass” beneath them or in a colorful linen-lined Easter basket. ~ I absolutely love this idea!!
ADD SPRINGTIME COLOR AND FLAVOR!

- LOVELY LAMB – Transfer prepared stuffing mix to the center of a large white or ivory platter; stack roasted rack of lamb on top and arrange fresh steamed Brussels sprouts, and cooked baby carrots around the meat adding fresh mint for garnish. For another healthful twist, cook lima beans in chicken broth and toss with sauteed onions, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Arrange around the lamb with lemon wedges as garnish. ~ Oh my goodness! This sounds incredible!
- HAM’S PERFECT PARTNER – Stir in ½ cup bacon bits, 1 cup dried cherries, and one small can (drained) of pineapple chunks to the basic stuffing recipe; bake as usual and top with sliced, hard boiled eggs. Serve along side glazed pineapple ham.
- ASPARAGUS FOR THE SEASON — Replace ½ of the broth, juice or water called for in your stuffing recipe with cream of asparagus soup and mix according to package directions; arrange asparagus tips on top of the stuffing in your baking dish, cover with foil and bake as usual.
TASTY NEW TRADITIONS
Stuff Cornish game hens with prepared stuffing following package instructions for turkey. Before roasting, sprinkle chopped, fresh herbs on top of each hen and add round slices of a fresh lemon (or orange). Cover birds with foil and roast in a 325° oven for 30 minutes per pound of poultry; remove foil for the final 30 minutes to brown the birds. Serve ½ of a roasted, stuffed Cornish game hen per guest. ~ This would be perfect for a small Easter get together with family and friends.
My Thoughts
As a product reviewer of many products, my family has learned that trying new things (and new foods) can be so much FUN! When Mrs. Cubbison’s sent these two products to our home, along with some fun Easter decorations (an egg holder and bunny apron), we couldn’t have been more thrilled!

The seasoning corn bread stuffing was an excellent addition to our rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes w/gravy, and green beans. As an “experimental” cook I tried water and found that it would have been better to use chicken broth or a bouillon instead. Without these ingredients – the stuffing seemed really dried out, and lacked flavor. I am sure that after adding onion slithers and chopped celery, this side dish would have definitely been more complete as well!

If you are looking for a classic Stove Top recipe to follow, this is what I would suggest:
Ingredients
1 6-ounce package of Mrs. Cubbison’s Classic Seasoned Dressing or Seasoned Corn Bread Stuffing
2 tablespoons; Butter or Margarine
1/2 cup; Onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup; Celery, finely chopped
1 1/3 cups; Water
1 teaspoon; Instant chicken bouillon or one bouillon cube
Directions
Melt butter or margarine in a 2-quart saucepan.
Add onion and celery and sauté until onion is transparent.
Add water and bouillon. Heat to boiling on high heat.
Cover, reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes.
Remove from heat. Stir in dressing mix. Cover and let stand 3 to 5 minutes.
Fluff with a fork to serve.
As for the croutons, we eat salad on several occasions throughout the week, especially with Italian dishes – and these croutons were the perfect accessory! My girls and I loved them for a snack and they really added flavor to our once bland salad bowls as well.
I would highly recommend Mrs. Cubbison’s products for every family. They allow you so much room to try out new recipes, fall in love with new flavors, and bring your family together at the dinner table.
