One of my favorite events of the year happens on Sunday evening at 7:30…the FREE KC Symphony concert…Celebration at the Station. This concert is always amazing and so much fun. Get there early to get a good seat (bring a blanket or folding chairs…and a picnic!)
Starting on Memorial day through Labor Day, active duty military can get free admission into tons of muesums around the country thanks to the Blue Star Museums program. Go HERE to find a museum near you. In Kansas City we can see Monet’s Water Lilies at the Nelson Atkins for free and also get into Wonderscope Children’s museum free!
The Kansas City Hot Air Balloon Festival is happening Friday-Sunday. We went to this last year and it’s really an amazing site! Be prepared for crowds and parking issues, but it’s worth it! And also completely free. Go HERE for information and times for launches.
And while it is not free, Jiggle Jam is always a really fun time at Crown Center! You could even grab a hotel package for $99 and make it into a great staycation!
Please let me know if you see any more Memorial Day deals and I will add them to this post! Have a wonderful weekend with your friends and family! And while you enjoy the kick off to summer, take at least a moment to remember those that we have lost whether it be fallen soldiers, those lost in tragedies like the recent tornados, or our loved ones.
