If you are a fan of the television show, The Voice, then chances are you were able to see the amazing, and very talented Chris Mann last year. Since then, he has signed to Faircraft/Universal Republic, a new label formed by renowned producer/music executive Ron Fair. He’s also releasing his major label debut, Roads, a bold reimagining of the classical-pop genre. The aptly-titled album represents the culmination of a long and challenging journey for this gifted and dedicated young artist, who’d been pushing forward against what had appeared to be overwhelming odds.
I was given the opportunity to review his latest album, and was very impressed. His voice is so incredibly soothing, and beyond beautiful. Roads boasts a wildly eclectic assortment of songs, ranging from Willie Nelson’s “Always on My Mind” and Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” to “Ave Maria” and Damien Rice’s “The Blowers’ Daughter,” with the latter featuring a special guest appearance from Christina Aguilera.
Each song truly shows Chris Mann’s soulfulness and richness of his voice. I cannot believe it has taken this long for talent like his to be discovered. I would highly encourage anyone who has a passion for music to listen to this remarkable album. It truly is relaxing, breath taking and worth every moment of your time.
To hear Chris Mann’s newest album “Roads” for yourself, be sure to purchase it on iTunes and/or on Amazon.com. You can also visit his website, like his Facebook page, and/or follow him on Twitter.
