Have you ever been in the restroom and the toilet paper has run out? Then you looked around and couldn’t find a square to spare (did you catch the Seinfeld joke)? Seriously, running out of toilet paper in my own bathroom or someone else’s can be a nightmare. There are some ways to store toilet paper so you won’t ever run out (at least at home)!
The most obvious placement of toilet paper rolls would be in a cabinet over the toilet or in the cabinet under the sink. Both of these options ensure that the toilet paper can be easily reached from the toilet. If you have a pedestal sink, which is very popular today, and don’t have the option of a cabinet, floating shelves could be an option for you. You can find floating shelves pretty cheap these days and in many different finishes. I recently purchased a pack of three for my son’s room for about $10 at Big Lots!
A free standing toilet paper holder is a great option, as well. They can store four or five rolls at a time. You can pick one up for a great price or check a nearby thrift store (which will save even more bucks). What’s more, the toilet paper is always within reach on a free standing holder and many times the holder has a spot to hang a roll as you would on the bathroom wall. This is a great idea if your bathroom doesn’t have a traditional toilet paper holder on the wall.
Many people store toilet paper in a wicker or canvas basket in bathrooms which is what I do. The basket I use can hold 10 rolls easily, and the storage idea looks nice too.
If you don’t want to spend a dollar on a storage option for your toilet paper, try to re-purpose something. This comes in handy if you have a toddler or puppy that likes to get into the toilet paper! An old tin canister could work. If you are handy with woodworking, you could build a small container for your bathroom.
Of course, many of you use the standard toilet paper holder, but it’s always good to learn new storage techniques to keep things clean, tidy, and useful in your home.
