You’re friends at FFF have another great idea about how to live frugally. During the summer, when school is out and the kids are driving you nuts, it’s a great idea to have some cheap summer crafts in the back of your mind to keep them busy. Of course, once your children have painted, colored, drawn on the sidewalk with chalk and gone swimming, they’ll still want something to do this summer. That’s where these FrugalFabulousFinds’ summer crafts come in handy.
Here is a cute idea to add to your summer crafts: you can make snake bubbles using this idea from Pinterest. Summer crafts should be super fun and easy to make. This one only takes a few minutes.
You will need:
- an empty plastic bottle (water bottle or sports drink bottle)
- one rubber band
- a terry cloth (I used a wash cloth)
- liquid dish soap
- water
To start these summer crafts, mix the dish soap with some water. I use a 2 to 1 ratio (2 parts soap to 1 part water). Then, I cut the bottom off of the bottle. Trace the detached bottom of the bottle onto the terry cloth with roughly an inch overlap. Cut out the circle and attach it to the bottom of the bottle using the rubber band. Dip the bottom of the bottle into the soap and blow. The bubbles are thick and stick together making a long snake like shape. This project makes fun summer crafts!
My kids always spill the bubble containers. So, this is a great way to create your own liquid bubble solution and have some fun outdoors with summer crafts.
