Dump and Dash Slow Cooker ChiliDump these ingredients into your slow cooker ground beef, chopped onions, both cans of beans, crushed tomatoes and taco seasoning mix. Cook in your slow cooker, on low for 4 to 6 hours. Add frozen corn about 20 minutes before serving.
Ingredients
1 c. cornmeal
½ c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. buttermilk (or substitute 1 Tbsp. vinegar in a measuring cup and then fill to 1 1/2 c. with milk. Let sit about minute)
1 egg
½ tsp. baking soda
¼ c. canola oil
1 1/2 Tbsp. non-hydrogenated margarine
Directions
Preheat your oven to 400F. In a large bowl combine cornmeal, flour, salt and baking powder. In a small bowl, mix the buttermilk and egg with a fork, add baking soda. Stir.
Pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients and stir. Add canola oil and stir.
Then in your iron skillet, over medium heat, melt the margarine. Pour the batter into the hot skillet and spread to even out the surface. Cook the cornbread on the stove for a minute then bake in oven until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
DIY Homemade Taco Seasoning
4 Tbsp. chili powder
4 Tbsp. paprika
3 Tbsp. cumin
2 Tbsp. onion powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
Directions
Mix spices and store in sealed container. Two rounded tablespoons are equal to one traditional taco seasoning package.
