When you simmer this Christmas mixture together in your home, you will discover all of the Christmas scents suddenly floating around your house. This potpourri really stirs up the Christmas spirit. What’s even better is that this is an all natural method to making your home or your friend’s home smell wonderful. This recipe should remain relevant throughout the entire holiday season. This homemade potpourri is a great way to scent your entire home. You can reuse this recipe over and over again!
Ingredients:
1 lemon
1 orange
3-3 inch cinnamon sticks
6 bay leaves
1/2 whole cloves
2 quarts of water
Directions:

To put the Simmering Christmas Potpourri together, you must combine all of the ingredients except for the water in one jar or plastic bag. Once you go to give this gift away, it is nice to add a bow to improve the appearance. Then, place the ingredients in a jar, cute plastic container, or tin. Doing this really adds to the presentation of the gift. Also, don’t forget to add an instruction tag. To really kick this gift up a notch, you should write out the note by hand or print it from your computer.
Gift tag instructions:
Cut your lemon and orange into slices or quarters, whichever is easiest for you. Combine fruit, spices and two quarts of water in a large saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer. Add more water as needed throughout the day. Cover any left over mixture, refrigerate and reuse. Makes 8 cups. Enjoy!
