Can you believe it is already 2015? Last year just flew by! This is the time of the year for you to finally achieve all of those couponing goals you set for yourself. We hope we can help you achieve them! At least, that’s the idea that inspired us to create this post: Kickoff 2015 the Right Way with these 15 Couponing Resolutions. We’ve put together a list of 15 very doable couponing resolutions that are perfect for anyone’s new year. I recommend that you begin today!
Leave extra coupons at the store for the other shoppers. Don’t take all of your coupons home just to simply throw them away. It’s bad for the environment and doesn’t help anyone save money. Let others join in on the savings!- Treat store employees nicely and have patience while you are couponing! Perhaps you could even choose a favorite store employee always use that person’s line when check out.
- Pick up a new coupon binder. It is the new year, you likely have a beat up and tarnished coupon binder. Retire that old fellow and buy a new binder (along with new dividers or folders for the inside of the binder). If you don’t have a couponing binder, get started this year with a nice new one to keep you organized.
- Make sure you take advantage of the awesome couponing apps available on iTunes or Google Play. There are all sorts of apps such as RetailMeNot. Most grocery stores have them as well to help you plan out your purchases and organize your digital coupons.
- Do your homework before you make large purchases on appliances, technology or automobiles. If you take your time and resolve not to purchase items impulsively, you could save hundreds or even thousands of dollars.
- Buy more fresh fruits and vegetables. Make it a point to find coupons for healthy foods. Also, shop for these items when they’re on sale. Don’t forget to shop from local farmers markets. Fresh, in-season fruit in your area at farmer’s markets typically cost less than at grocery stores.
- Be kind to the planet and use resusable shopping bags when you shop. You can purchase these bags for about $1. Keep them in the back or trunk of your car so you won’t forget to use them.
- Don’t you hate it when you see items placed in the wrong spot at the grocery store or big box store? Don’t be guilty of this crime as well! If you decide not to purchase an item, give the item back to the cashier when you check out.
- If you stockpile, try not to take the last item. Let other shoppers have a chance!
- Be nice and don’t constantly brag about your couponing adventures.
- If you stockpile, keep an eye on your loot and rotate your food stockpile. You don’t want to stockpile too much and let your food items spoil.
- Don’t waste precious time looking for one item you have a coupon for! If you can’t find it within a set period of time, ask a store employee.
- Don’t buy a bunch of items that you never intend to use just because they are on sale or your have a coupon for it.
- Make sure to always check your receipt when you leave the store. Make sure you didn’t pay too much for an item or didn’t get your correct discount.
- Before making any purchase (online or in stores) be sure to check for a coupon you can use!
