
Yes, the image above is none other than… ME ! Taken while I was attending school for Esthetics, giving a facial to a client. I stumbled upon it the other day and realized that I have even more money saving tips that I’ve yet to share with you! Skincare Recipes from my own kitchen have become such the norm for me, that I forget how many don’t realize the wonders that you may have hiding in your kitchen!
The greatest part of Esthetics for me was learning about product ingredients – the good, the bad and the ugly! I’m planning more posts in this series and will share some surprising and eye opening info about OTC cosmetics & skin care.
What does this have to do with being Frugal ? Everything….if we are accountable for spending our money wisely, that means making educated decisions on both the Quality and the Cost ! I can just about guarantee you that there are products you are spending money on that you would literally throw in the trash if the ingredients were really “decoded” for you!
While I’m hunting through my school books & kitchen for some of my favorite homemade skincare recipes, I thought I’d give you a quick list of ingredients you may likely have in your kitchen right now.
You’ll be amazed at what edible products do for your skin! My professor always said that she wouldn’t put anything on her skin that she wouldn’t put IN her body! Your body does absorb through your pores-so it totally makes sense to me. She was an awesome teacher and truly lived the lifestyle that she taught-very natural, vegetarian and so committed to it. I just loved her!
So, yes, you really can FEED YOUR FACE ! My first week in school I remember using applesauce and anything I could find in my kitchen and it did wonders to perk up my skin-it was so fun to play around and try new things. I also recruited my kids AND Hubby (shhh!) to test out new concoctions, which made it even better 😀
