Broccoli Cauliflower Casserole Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of plain bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup (plus 2 tablespoons) of grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of McCormick’s Perfect Pinch Italian seasoning
  • 1 16-ounce package of frozen broccoli florets, thawed out
  • 1 16-ounce package of frozen cauliflower florets, thawed out
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 large onion, chopped to yield 1 cup
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of course ground black pepper
  • 1 1/4 cups of milk
  • 4 ounces (or 1/2 package) of cream cheese cut into small cubes

Broccoli Cauliflower Casserole Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a bowl, mix together the bread crumbs, 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese, 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and 1/2 teaspoon of Italian seasoning. Put this to the side and make sure that all your broccoli and cauliflower pieces are bite-sized. If any are not, cut them to a smaller size. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter on medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook until it is tender (approximately 5 minutes). Add in the flour, the remaining Italian seasoning, garlic salt, and pepper. Then, add the milk. Cook everything until the mixture becomes thick and bubbles. Next, add the cream cheese and the remaining Parmesan cheese. Cook it until the cream cheese has melted and be sure to stir frequently. Then, add in the veggies and stir together to make sure everything is covered. Pour the veggie and cheese mixture into a baking dish and cover with the bread crumb mixture. Bake in the oven for approximately 40 minutes or until the top becomes a light golden brown color. Enjoy!
