Cheesy Sausage Pasta Bake Ingredients:

1 pound of penne pasta or rigatoni

1 package of regular flavored pork sausage roll (you can use any brand but Jimmy Deans works well)

a 24 ounce jar of pasta sauce

2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning

1/4 teaspoon of salt

1 15 ounce container of ricotta cheese

2 cups or 8 ounces of shredded mozzarella cheese

3 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons of fresh, finely chopped parsley (this is optional)

Cheesy Sausage Pasta Bake Directions:

Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook your pasta according to the direction on the package. Be sure to remove the pasta from the heat approximately 1 minute before the suggested cook time ends. Then drain your pasta and set it off to the side to cool. In a large skillet, cook your sausage over medium to high heat for approximately 10 minutes. Be sure to stir it periodically. Drain any excess liquid and place the sausage back on the stove. Mix in the pasta sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and cooked pasta. Use non-stick cooking spray to coat the bottom and sides of a 13×9″ baking pan. Place about half of the pasta and sauce mixture in the bottom of your baking pan. In a small bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, Parmesan, and 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Then, pour the remaining pasta and sauce mixture over the ricotta cheese mix. Top everything off with the shredded mozzarella cheese and the chopped parsley. Place the baking pan in your oven for approximately 30 minutes or until everything is warm and the cheese has melted.
