
Credit Sesame, one of our favorite resources that provides consumers with a free credit score and debt analysis, took the ‘average state credit score analysis’ one step further and looked at the underlying ranges of consumers’ credit scores by state: Credit Score Stress Test
Wonder which states have a populace with a healthy credit score and which states have people who still need a little help along the way?
Simply analyzing a state’s average credit score tells you less about the actual lay of the land. To help present a clearer picture, Credit Sesame analyzed the credit score ranges of consumers across the United States, looking at which states had the most amount of people falling between the excellent and good range and which states had the most with poor and very poor credit scores.
A state was awarded good credit health if a majority of its residents fell within the good-excellent credit range and poor health if the general population fell within the ‘poor-bad’ credit range.
Here’s how the states performed…I thought this was very interesting! My state (NC) isn’t listed at all…
