Mothers Day will be here in just over a week. Do you have a gift picked out for your mom or the special mother-figure in your life? You still have plenty of time to find a special gift! If you are interested in creating a homemade gift for your mom, you have come to the right place! Today, we are going to tell you how to make a unique, inexpensive, yet special homemade gift for mom. DIY crafts and projects can make very special gifts. Why? Because you have taken the time to make the gift. Below, you will find directions to make a homemade bath gel!

Homemade Bath Gel Ingredients:

  • 1 packet of unflavored gelatin
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of shower gel or liquid soap
  • 3/4 cup of boiling water
  • 1 drop of food coloring
  • (optional) essential oils
  • Containers for molding

Homemade Bath Gel Directions:

In a bowl, mix together the unflavored gelatin packet and the boiling water. Mix together until the gelatin is dissolved. Add one teaspoon of salt and mix that together. Then, add 1/2 cup of any type of shower gel or liquid soap and thoroughly mix everything together. If you would like, you can add a few drops of food coloring to add color to your bath gels. You can also add a little glitter to the bath gels for extra pizazz! Once everything is thoroughly mixed together, pour the mixture into your molds. You can used cleaned out Jello containers, shaped molds, etc. to mold your gels. Put them in the refrigerator for 2 hours so they can set up. Once the gels have set up, they should look much like Jello snacks (but do not eat them!) Carefully remove them from the molds by flipping them over and tapping them gently. Then, you can package them in cute favor bags or small containers. If you are not giving them away the same day you make them, store them in the refrigerator.
