I hope you all had an amazing week and wonderful weekend (last week) since I last posted a weekly freebie list of activities for you & your families to enjoy! We celebrated my husband’s 30th birthday (see pic above), and this weekend…we are celebrating my birthday! 🙂 There are several free events and activities going on this weekend, and I also included a few extra freebie summer activities as well…enjoy!
Here’s a list of Free Events and Activities for you and/or your family this weekend (7/16 – 7/18):
- Lakeshore Learning Store: on Saturday (7/16), from 11 am – 3 pm, visit Lakeshore Learning Center to create a free Splashy Jellyfish.
- Michaels: visit Michaels this Saturday (7/16) between 11 am and 2 pm for a Passport to Fun Event – create a French-Impressionist Style Painting and Frenchman.
- AC Moore: visit Wednesday (7/20) between 3 pm and 5 pm, to create a free Blumenthal Button Bookworm Bookmark, at their weekly Summer Make & Take Event.
- American Girl: See what events are happing at your local American Girl Shop and enjoy making memories with your daughter! Varies depending on store location.
- AMF Summer Unplugged: You can read more about this FREE summer bowling program here.
- Apple: Register your 8-12 year old for this fun and FREE workshop at the Apple Store nearest you. Watch as they learn how to shoot and score their very own movie using GarageBand and iMovie! Starting Mon, July 18 through Sat, July 30 (depending on which “camp” you sign up for). It’s a three-day event – which was booked full at my local store, but you can also get on the waiting list.
- Archiver’s: visit Archiver’s this July for Techniques Month. Starting yesterday (7/14-7/19/11) you can see demos of Tim Holtz’s Resist Technique. Then continuing on Friday and Saturday nights visit from 5-11 pm for six undisturbed hours of scrapbooking and socializing. Just pay a $5 reservation fee to save your spot. When you arrive, you’ll receive a $5 merchandise voucher to use that night.
- Barnes & Noble: Enter you city and state or zip code to “Find an Event” near you. My local B&N is having story time, author signings & info for Nook Owners.
- Bass Pro Shops: Select a Store to find out what events and workshops are happening near you. My local BPS is hosting a Conceal & Carry Class (which costs $50).
- Borders: visit Borders on Saturday (7/16) at 2 pm for Special Kids’ Event – Sprout Summer Camps. Get Moving with Sprout, a channel you and your children can enjoy together.
- Jo-Ann Fabrics: Saturday (11AM-1PM): FREE Papercrafting with Fiskars & Core’dinations DEMO & Saturday (1PM-3PM): FREE Floss Kits DEMO
- Lakeshore Learning Store: Saturday (11AM-3PM): Kids will use their creativity to make this colorful Splashy Jellyfish!
- KidsBowlFree.com: Bowling centers around the country are participating in this fun summer program where kids can bowl for FREE! Visit the website for find a participating location near you to sign up!
- Michaels: Tuesday (7/19) from 11 AM – 2 PM, create in Japan style with origami and foam printing blocks! On Thursday (7/21) from 11 AM – 2 PM, create a Greek Pot and Olympic Torch (Passport to Fun event); and then that evening (7/21) from 6 PM – 7PM, they are having a Christmas in July event, where you can create Clay Pot Trees Demo.
- Pat Catan’s: “Choose A Location” to check out their calendar of classes. Located in OH or PA.
- Pottery Barn: visit Friday (7/15) at 3 and 4 pm for a Doll Tea Party. Dress up in your finest and bring your child’s favorite doll or teddy bear for a time of fun, refreshments and more. Call your local store to RSVP.
- REI: Select a state to find out what events are happening at your local store. There are lots of FREE sport events that teach you anything from biking to how to do a triathlon.
- Scholastic Stores: Saturday (7/16) at 3 PM, come celebrate the release of the Final Harry Potter movie in costume! It’s a magically fun-filled party with trivia and HP crafting!
- Target: Check for FREE museum events in a city near you
- Walmart: there are several in-store events this weekend. Check your local store for hours and participation. My local Walmart is hosting 4 events this weekend, including Ballpark Franks & Kettle Chips (sample) event, Honey Nut Cheerios (sample) event, Bausch & Lomb Biotrue Event, and Pet Armor event.
