As a parent and an early childhood educator, I know that one of the most important aspects of a child’s life is literacy. Learning how to read, and growing up with a passion for reading is a skill that I have always believed should be taught from birth. This company allows you to personalize high quality children’s books, teach a child how to recognize their name, birth date, and even build up their vocabulary skills. I am so excited that they invited me to review and giveaway their NEW personalized children’s book called My Very Happy Birthday.
The Product ~ My Very Happy Birthday Story Book
My Very Happy Birthday (for girls) is an adorable personalized 6″ x 6″ hardcover book with durable board pages, especially for babies and toddlers. In this delightful story, Duck, Mouse, Turtle, Bluebird and other friends come together to prepare a special birthday party and cake for your little girl (or little boy – if you choose to personalize the book for boys).
As an added personal touch, this beautifully illustrated book includes a personalized cover and a printed dedication from the sender. Made in the USA, this storybook is written by award-winning author Jennifer Dewing and illustrated by Mati Rose McDonough.
On the order page, if you specify which birthday the child is celebrating (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.), the number will be included on the cover and on 5 pages in the book. The cake will include the correct number of candles as well!
If you answer “any” to the question on the order page about which birthday the child is celebrating, the book will look like the one displayed in the main virtual tour. We do not calculate which birthday the child is celebrating because many times the book is given as a belated gift after the birthday.
My Thoughts
For this particular review, I decided to create a personalized book for my oldest daughter, Destin, who just turned 3 years old in February. The book is bound beautifully, and was created for a young child or baby in mind. Board books truly are a wonderful way to introduce babies/toddlers to reading – and my daughter loves to read them!
The entire focus of the story is on my daughter Destin, and how all the animals are planning a special birthday party for her. Each page shared her name, birth date and/or some kind of task (music, making a cake, decorations, etc.) that the animals had to prepare for her party. To top it off, the entire book rhymed as well! This book is so gorgeous, and I know that it will be something that our daughter will cherish for many years to come.
I would highly suggest personalizing a book for the children in your life! Keep in mind that it does take about 2 weeks for the order to arrive at your door!
