You can use banana peels to help fertilize fruiting and flowering plants in your garden. You can do this by planting the peel near the plant’s roots and allowing the peel to break down. Bananas and their peels are high in vitamins and nutrients. These nutrients are very beneficial to your plants!
Hydrangeas, roses, magnolias, and a few other flowers in particular like your used coffee grounds! Coffee grounds add acidity and nitrogen to your soil. Mix the coffee grounds into the base of your plant’s soil for best results.
Use egg shells to help plants such as tomatoes grow. The calcium in the shells is highly beneficial to plants; especially those that are growing in calcium deficient soil.
Roses, tomatoes, and other plants LOVE Epsom salt! You can buy unscented bags of Epsom salt at your local Dollar Tree or Walmart for a very low price. To use Epsom salt as a fertilizer, take 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt and mix it with one gallon of water. Use it by pouring it out of a watering can daily. Epson salt can be used on indoor plants as well.
