Our family absolutely loves to read – whether its a magazine, a newspaper, an eBook, and mostly illustrated children’s books. I have always had a passion for children’s books, which is one of the main reasons I became an educator. Teaching children how to read and write is such an incredible, yet motivational challenge. And now as a parent of two young girls, one of the things I am looking forward to is teaching them these same concepts. I am so excited to share this next review with you from I See Me!. The Product ~ “My Very Merry Christmas” Board Book
My Very Merry Christmas is an adorable personalized 6″ x 6″ board book with forest animals that come together to put on a very merry Christmas for your child. This keepsake book has a hard cover and durable board pages with charming illustrations of Goose, Chipmunk and other furry friends who deliver a note about your child to Santa. At the end of this delightful story, the animals circle the tree that they have adorned with your child’s name spelled out on the ornaments.
As an added personal touch, this beautifully illustrated book includes a personalized cover and a printed dedication from the sender. Made in the USA, this storybook is written by award-winning author Jennifer Dewing and illustrated by Mati Rose McDonough.
When ordering, they will ask you whether the book is being given to the child for his or her first Christmas.
* If you answer “no,” the title of your child’s book will be “[Child’s First Name’s] Very Merry Christmas.”
* If you answer “yes,” we will add the word “First” into the title of the book so that it reads, “[Child’s First Name’s] Very Merry First Christmas.” They will also change the text in the story to refer to the fact that it is the child’s very first Christmas.
My Thoughts
For this particular review, I decided to create a personalized book for my youngest daughter, Arwen. This will be her second Christmas, which is why the book (shown below) does not say “First”. The book is bound beautifully, and was created for a young child or baby in mind. Board books truly are a wonderful way to introduce babies to reading – and my little Arwen loves to read them!
The entire focus of the story is on Arwen, and how all the animals go tell Santa that they must make it special for her. In fact almost every single page had her name written on it, and is mentioned throughout the entire story. This book is so gorgeous, and I know that it will be something that our daughter will cherish for many years to come.
I would highly suggest personalizing a book for the children in your life! Be sure to order yours for Christmas soon, as it does take about 2 weeks to arrive in time for the holidays!
