If you have ever visited Europe, or know someone that has…then you will know that the best seasonal drink this time of year is called Federweißer. This alcoholic drink has the same taste as sparkling grape juice or wine. The bad news is that most people that enjoy this beverage can never find it in the United States…until now! Thanks to a company called Spike Your Juice, you can now take any of your favorite juices (i.e. grape, cranberry, etc.) and turn it into your favorite alcohol beverage.
About 
Spike Your Juice was developed by a group of Europeans living in California. Having grown up near wine producing regions, they particularly craved a seasonal drink called “Federweißer”. This drink is only available from early September to late October during harvest time.
The original Federweißer is known by many names, depending on what wine region of Germany, Austria or Italy you are in.
Transportation of Federweißer over long distances is almost impossible due to the ongoing fermentation process inside the bottles.

How does it work?
In THREE easy steps, you can create just your own “homemade hooch”.
Step 1: Pick Your Juice
Choose your favorite 64 oz bottle of juice, w/the following requirements:
- minimum sugar content of 20g/serving
- no refrigerated juices
- no artificially sweetened juices
- no unfiltered juices

Step 2: Spike Your Juice!
Pour 1 packet into your juice (no stirring necessary)
- DISCARD original bottle cap (this is VERY important – you can never put the original cap back on because the bottle could potentially BURST! Yikes!)
- fill out and attach supplied Label
Step 3: Seal with Airlock
- fill Airlock with water to Fill Line
- seal bottle with Airlock and Rubber Stopper
- store at room temperature & wait 48 hours
After 48 hrs, you may start sampling
- If satisfied, close bottle with Rubber Stopper, refrigerate and enjoy
- for a stronger and dryer taste with increased alcohol content, re-seal with Airlock and Rubber Stopper and continue storing at room temperature until satisfied
My Thoughts
For this particular review, I was sent a “kit” from Spike Your Juice, which came with 6 packets, 6 labels, 1 airlock (tool) and 1 rubber stopper; as well as, instructions and recipes (priced at only $9.99).
As someone who has been to Germany on several occasions when I was younger, I cannot express enough how wonderful Federweißer truly is. This product truly is amazing, and for those people who really want to experience the authentic European adventure, I would highly recommend this product to them. Within 24-48 hours, I was able to create a “spiked” Apple juice which tasted wonderful!
My parents lived in Germany for several years (because of the military), and I know that they will absolutely love this treasure that I have found for them! 😀 Please keep in mind that when purchasing this product, that you drink responsibly and make smart decisions. Keep out of the reach of children and all persons under the age of 21.
