PRODUCT REVIEW : POTTY TIME DVD - Frugal Fabulous Finds

Did you know that children learn best from music, movement and fun? So when it came to potty training my youngest daughter, I cannot tell you how excited I was about reviewing the Potty Time DVD!! As an early childhood educator, and a parent of two young girls – any milestone has to be an adventure, and potty training is definitely one that takes time, effort, and lots of planning.

Potty Time is the newest product line from Two Little Hands, the makers of the award-winning Signing Time program, currently being aired on public television stations and Nick, Jr. Potty Time is a playful and positive approach to potty training for children ages 1-5 with music and videos featuring Emmy-nominated host, Rachel Coleman.

Potty Time supports any potty training method by helping children:

Potty Time teaches the potty routine along with signs (sign language) that children of any age can use to talk about growing up, using the potty, and celebrating successes of all kinds. Signs are especially useful for potty training infants and toddlers. In fact my oldest, who is 3 years old absolutely loves the songs and signs from this movie – that she asks to watch it with me almost daily!

The songs from the DVD are also accompanied with a Potty Time CD featuring the 9 original songs from the video, with a sing-along track for each. These playful and positive songs help children (of all ages) feel good about their bodies and celebrate successes of any kind.

I think what I really liked most about the Potty Time DVD is that it showed real people, and animated characters that young children could relate to. Every child is different – how they learn, play, and grow is all up to them and their bodies ~ and this product definitely embraces that. I would highly recommend buying this DVD/CD set (which sells for $24.95) and encouraging your little one to not only learn about potty training, but ways to communicate with you by using sign language. My girls are always signing “help”, “growing up” and even “potty”, and I absolutely love it!
