How many of you love to cook? Or maybe having some aspiring little chefs in the making? Personally, I love to cook…and I will be the first to admit, I am not the best chef in the world, but it keeps my family happy for the most part. My oldest daughter (who is 2 years old) loves to help mommy in the kitchen…which I why I am so excited to share this next product review with all of you!
The Handstand Kids Cookbook Company creates international cookbook kits that introduce children to the culture, language, and cuisine of a new country. Each cookbook kit is uniquely packaged with a cooking accessory:

The Mexican Cookbook comes in a tortilla bag with a child-sized oven mitt (this is the one I reviewed!):
The Chinese Cookbook is packaged in a take-out box with a set of chopsticks:
The five Handstand Kids are featured throughout the series, which include Felix, Izzy, Ari, Gabby and Marvin who help your children learn about the recipes, culture and language of a new country.
The Handstand Kids offer helpful hints about cooking for special diets and finding ways to use cooking skills to support the community. They are a diverse bunch with varied interests so kids can easily relate to the characters. Felix is a vegetarian, Izzy is a picky eater and loves to cook for his diabetic sister, Ari uses her cooking skills to volunteer at kid’s charities, Gabby is bilingual, speaking both Spanish and English, and Marvin is an aspiring chef.
Something I loved…In addition to exploring the delicious recipes of a different country, their cookbooks also offer children an introduction to the country’s language. ALL of the ingredients and utensils are translated in to the country’s primary language, and these translated words are used in the recipes to help kids learn the language as they cook. So since we had the Mexican Cookbook, we were able to learn all kinds of Spanish words! PLUS, they have ratings for each recipe difficulty (labeled in avocados), starting from 1 all the way up to 4.
We tested out lots of recipes from the cookbook we received, but this one was our absolute favorite: Cinnamon Sticks 🙂 Don’t they look yummy? Our girls absolutely loved these!
