PRODUCT REVIEW+GIVEAWAY: ROUNDABOUTS CUPCAKE SLEEVES

When it comes to baking, I will be the first to admit, that I did not get my mother’s amazing “Betty Crocker” skills. She has this incredible way of turning cream cheese, chocolate and flour into something that melts in your mouth for days. Everyone in my family (divorced and all!) still asks me about her baking and recipes. Maybe someday I can convince her to open up a bakery of her own 🙂 With that said, I have to share that I do love to bake: Cookies, cake, brownies, and CUPCAKES!

So when I saw this new company called Roundabouts – I knew I had to check it out!  Roundabouts are decorative wraps that simply wrap around the base of your cupcakes to quickly transform your ordinary cupcakes into fun and decorative masterpieces. The great part about  – they are so easy use, less work to create, cheaper than store bought designs, and you can choose from 70+ great designs for any occasion.

Some of the designs they offer are fun (for a birthday party), some are sophisticated (for a wedding) – they even have cupcake sleeves for each holiday, including, but not limited to: President’s Day, Valentines, Mardi Gras, St. Patrick’s, Cinco De Mayo, Mothers/Fathers, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas and more! Here are some of my favorite creations (found on their site)…

For this review, I was sent the Candy Hearts Roundabouts Sleeves; and I also had some Lil’ Burger (see closeup pic above) Roundabout Sleeves from doing the same product review on my blog.

Even if you are not like Mrs. Crocker, you can still create beautiful cupcakes for any occasion! The whole process is very simple! You bake your cupcakes – any flavor/kind, let them cool, mix the frosting colors (the instructions came with a recipe to make your frosting look a certain color – in this case, light brown for the Lil’ Burger), then gently place the Roundabout sleeve around the base of your cupcakes. After placing a sleeve on each cupcake, add frosting. To top these great cupcakes off, I used sesame seeds (which I got in a Chinese microwave meal I bought) and for the Candy Hearts I just used sprinkles.
