I have a new Frugal Fabulous Recipe that I absolutely could not wait to share with you all! Homemade Donuts from Canned Biscuits that took me all of 10 minutes to make and they are o.m.g. scrumptious !
I got inspired to pull out my apron when I saw a similar recipe on Pinterest, but really had no idea how they would turn out….and now I can say that this is a MUST MAKE Recipe and you do not need bakery skills to create these homemade donuts.
In fact, all you need is a can of biscuits ( I used Grands Homestyle – but any kind would do – although the “layers” might not work so well), cooking oil, some sugar, cinnamon and butter and you’re ready to go!

Melt 4 tablespoons of butter, per can of 8 biscuits, into one bowl. Create a Cinnamon and Sugar mixture in another bowl (I just mixed until it was a nice light brown)

Simply cut out your center hole to create a donut – I just used the lid from a spice bottle. Heat about a 1/2 inch of cooking oil in your frying pan and carefully place your donuts. I allowed them to cook for about 2 minutes or until golden brown and then used tongs to turn them over and cook the opposite side.

Allow them to cool just long enough so that you are able to handle them without burning yourself. Then simply dip them in your melted butter and then into the cinnamon sugar mixture.

I even did the same with the “Donut Holes” !

And that’s it! Beauiful and Yummy Homemade Donuts – noone would ever know they originate from a can of biscuits and that it only took about 10 minutes to make!

Now, that’s what I call a Frugal Fabulous Recipe!
