One of the easiest ways to spruce up your home this spring is updating your window treatments but that can get pretty pricey. Curtains and window treatments are one of the most expensive components of your home decor. I set out on a mission to find ways to save and pass them onto you.
Last spring I was able to pick up several sets of very reasonable window treatments from IKEA for $14.99 per set! Try IKEA from time to time and see what they have that you may be interested in, they also always carry a modern look so your home doesn’t look dated! Also, if you are interested in faux wood blinds, buy just one set at a time until you have all of your windows done, to fit in your budget. At big box home stores you should be able to pick up each faux wood blinds set for about $40 or so (for standard sized windows).
Here are a few other stores that will have something in your price range that you may not of thought about before:
- Your local Good Will or consignment store.
- Wild Things is an online only store with deals on curtains, beaded curtains and bamboo curtains
- Cost Plus World Market is a great store and you can easily shop online for great prices on window treatments.
- Urban Outfitters has deals on paneled curtains that range from about $30 to $50.
- If you have the gift of sewing, buy some inexpensive sheets and try your hand at a DIY curtain project!
