Shell Fuel Rewards Review + Giveaway

As much as I would love for the price of gasoline to go down to what it was when I first started driving, the only way to save on “filling up” would be a rewards program. Around here, we get perks by shopping at local grocery stores, in exchange for “X” amount of savings. But sometimes, that really doesn’t add up to very much…until now. Thanks to a program called the Fuel Rewards Network, you can save more money than what you could possibly spend.

The Fuel Rewards Network™ program – or FRN™ program – offers consumers a way to pay less for fuel at participating Shell stations nationwide by earning rewards on everyday purchases. The program itself, is very unique because it allows consumers to combine multiple rewards offers – or cents per gallon rewards – together for potentially huge savings at the pump.

Imagine taking as much as one, two, three dollars or more off per gallon on your next fuel purchase!

The FRN program, owned and operated by Excentus, began rolling out to Shell stations in the summer of 2012 and is now available nationally in nearly 200 markets. The savings can be redeemed on all three grades of Shell Nitrogen Enriched Gasolines including Shell V-Power® Premium Gasoline and Shell Diesel at participating stations – up to 20 gallons per purchase, per vehicle.

Since its launch in 2012, the FRN program has helped consumers save approximately $68 million in savings at Shell. Most FRN Members on average are saving $0.31 per gallon on fuel at Shell through the Fuel Rewards Network program.

• Consumers can even use the Mobile Apps to check their rewards balance, find nearby savings and more.
• The Fuel Rewards Network program is offered at Shell in addition to the existing grocer rewards programs with The Kroger Co. and Ahold. Consumers will redeem their Kroger Co. and Ahold rewards separately from Fuel Rewards savings issued through the Fuel Rewards Network program.

All the Ways to Save with the Fuel Rewards Network program (ways to save vary by market):

• Shop Online: Access nearly 700 brand name online merchants offering at least 5¢/gal for every $50 you spend. Some may offer 2x, 5x, 10x rewards or more to multiply your savings!
• Dine Out:  Link a payment card to the Dining program and earn 10¢/gal for every $50 you spend at 10,000+ participating restaurants nationwide.
• Buy Groceries: Link your local participating grocery store’s rewards card to your FRN Account and earn rewards on your grocery store purchases.
• Get eCoupons: Select eCoupons at fuelrewards.com and earn Fuel Rewards® savings when the eCoupons items are subsequently purchased at participating grocery and drug stores.
• Shop at Shell: Purchase specially marked products inside the convenience store as well as car washes or auto services at participating Shell stations to earn Fuel Rewards savings through the Shell® Fuel Rewards® program.

Do you have a Shell Gas Station near you? Well, guess what! The Fuel Rewards Network would like to giveaway 5 FRN Cards pre-loaded with $1.00 per gallon savings!! If chosen as a winner, you may create a new FRN account, or you can add the pre-loaded savings to an an existing account by calling customer service.

Each pre-loaded card value is good for up to 20 gallons for a one-time use. If you are able to purchase all 20 gallons on your first use of the card, your full savings will be $20. If you are not able to purchase all 20 gallons, you will be able to redeem the $1.00 per gallon savings on however many gallons you are able to purchase, and then the card value will reset to $0 (hint: Some people bring a gas can with them if 20 gallons will not fit in their car’s tank. This way you get to take full advantage of the savings).

As a winner, you will need to register your winning card online before the savings can be redeemed. Here is how you register the card online:

1. Visit fuelrewards.com and click “Sign Up.”
2. Enter your information.
3. Select “I have a card” and then “FRN Card” if you already picked up an FRN Card at a participating Shell station, or select “I need a card” to request one to be mailed to you.
4. Enter your card number and card PIN (if you already have a card). Follow the steps to complete online enrollment.
