It will soon be time for college students to head back to school. It can be difficult to cook in a dorm, especially if you live in a traditional dorm without a kitchen. Today, we bringing you 2 recipes that are great for families as well as college students. The first recipe is for a delicious caprese sandwich which is tasty and easy to make. The other recipe (equally delicious and cheap!!) is a BBQ Chicken Pitas w/ Cheddar. Both recipes require access to a stove, so keep that in mind if you live in a dorm.
Caprese Sandwich
Caprese Sandwich Ingredients:
2 slices of whole wheat bread- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 2 ounces of sliced mozzarella
- 6 grape tomatoes cut in half
- 1/8 cup of fresh basil
Caprese Sandwich Directions:
Put 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil on your whole wheat bread and spread it out. Place your slices of bread in a non-stick pan for approximately 30 seconds on each side until they are lightly toasted. After they have toasted, place the mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil on one slice of bread. Place the other piece of bread on top and cook for approximately 2 to 3 minutes. Then, flip the sandwich and cook the other side for approximately 2 to 3 minutes. Enjoy!
